Chiang mai - Doi Suthep

We hired a driver for the day. We went to Doi Suthep and then later on to the Four Seasons for lunch. Paew was recommended to us by Sergeant Kai - and was a delight. Her rates were very reasonable. She drives a large comfortable four wheel drive. Contact details - Paew Travel Service. She and her husband offer treking tours and they have a desk in the lobby of Bossotel Inn, just opposite the railway station.

Back in Chiang Mai

We spent the evening wandering around the markets, which was a lot of fun.

For our hotel-airport transfers in Chiang Mai, I used a company called Oriental Escape. They responded promptly to emails, are reliable and reasonably priced. They also work out of Bangkok and Phuket.

Wild Monkeys - Sam bought rambutans for us to feed the monkeys. The monkeys peel the rambutans before eating them. I don't know if they spit out the seed.

Wat Chalong

We had a wonderful lunch of fresh fish, lobster and prawns on the beach not far from the Gypsy Village.
